The things that get in the way at home are usually tall ones: a wardrobe, a mattress, a ladder, a bike, a pair of skis. So when you look for storage with 24/7 access, read three numbers on the unit page instead of one: floor area, height and volume. The door size decides as much as any of them.
Below: where the height in our units really is, what a cubic metre costs, how night access works in practice and when you do not need the height at all.
Count cubic metres, not square metres
Every unit page gives length, width, height and volume. The floor area tells you how much stands side by side; the volume tells you how much goes in altogether. As of 20 September 2026 it looks like this:
- 0.99 m² box at Holíčska: 1.19 m³.
- 1.20 m² unit T57 at Tomášikova: 3.12 m³.
- 1.82 m² unit H17 at Holíčska: 4.73 m³.
- 3.20 m² unit H13 at Holíčska: 8.32 m³.
- 3.60 m² container: 9.36 m³.
- 7.20 m² container: 18.72 m³.
- 14.40 m² container: 37.44 m³.
Per cubic metre the picture changes. On a 12-month term a cubic metre costs 23.53€ a month in the smallest box, 7.45€ in unit H13, 5.13€ in a 3.60 m² container and 3.61€ in a 14.40 m² one. The smallest unit has the lowest monthly bill and the dearest volume, exactly as it does per square metre. What actually fits in one is covered in a small storage unit in Bratislava.
Where the height really is
The indoor units at Holíčska 7 and Tomášikova 50D have no roof of their own. The page says 2.60 m, but that is the height of the partition wall. Above it the hall is over three metres high, so a tall wardrobe or a ladder may stick out above the wall and you may stack above that line as well. The exception is the smallest boxes at Holíčska: those are closed and 1.00 to 1.20 m high.
A container has a hard ceiling. Inside it is 2.60 m and there is no more to be had: a steel roof is above you. The "up to three metres" that is sometimes claimed about containers does not hold. Of the 69 units free today, 62 are 2.60 m high. The other seven are those low boxes at Holíčska, and they are the usual trap: cheapest of all, but skis, a ladder or a bike rack will not stand in them.
The door decides as much as the height
A tall thing has to get through the door first. Indoor units have doors of 0.80 × 1.95 m, containers 0.80 × 2.00 m, and some ground-floor containers have double doors of 2.25 × 2.30 m. As of 20 September 2026 the free double-door units are at Pionierska (P36 and P38) and in Nitra (N41, N5, N9 and N10).
So a wardrobe 2.10 m tall will not go through an ordinary door standing up, even though it would fit once inside. Either take it apart or look for double doors. Measure your tallest item at home; the door size is listed on every unit.
24/7 access: how it works in practice
You can get onto the site 24 hours a day, every day of the year. The gate opens when you call from the number saved in your customer account, and the building at Holíčska opens with a personal code from the same account. In the account you can add up to nine more numbers per site, so a partner, a colleague or the movers can collect things without you.
What 24/7 does not mean: there are no staff on site. Nobody will lend you a trolley or help with the furniture, so bring a sack truck and a pair of hands. The sites are fenced and covered by cameras with recording, you lock the unit with your own padlock and only you have the key.
What is worth putting up high
- A free-standing rack. Our terms forbid drilling or welding the walls, ceiling and floor, so shelving has to stand on its own.
- Boxes in a column. Heavy at the bottom, light on top, same sizes together. Above head height put only what you can lift with one hand.
- Things on end. A ladder, a mattress on its edge, a surfboard, skis and a snowboard. How to prepare skis is in how to store skis.
- Bicycles. Stood on the back wheel against the wall they take half the space they take lying down.
- Company stock on shelves. For a business the height is the cheapest way to turn a small footprint into a warehouse; how firms use it is in storage rental for businesses.
- An aisle by the door. Keep a strip you can walk to the back wall along, so you do not unload half the unit to reach one box.
What it costs as of 20 September 2026
Prices change daily with occupancy. This is a snapshot as of 20 September 2026; the current figure always shows before you confirm an order and on the storage price list. Monthly price on a 1, 3, 6, 9 and 12-month term:
- H50A, Holíčska, 0.99 m² box 1.20 m high: 37€, 35€, 32€, 30€ and 28€.
- T57, Tomášikova, 1.20 m² indoor unit: 56€, 53€, 50€, 47€ and 45€.
- H17, Holíčska, 1.82 m² indoor unit: 54€, 52€, 48€, 46€ and 43€.
- H13, Holíčska, 3.20 m² indoor unit 2.60 m long: 82€, 77€, 72€, 67€ and 62€.

The most common mistakes
- Choosing by square metres. Two units of the same floor area have different volumes and different doors. Read the cubic metres.
- The cheapest box for tall things. The boxes from 28€ are 1.00 to 1.20 m high; skis and a ladder will not stand in them.
- A column with no system. A heavy box on top will slide off one day and land on what is underneath.
- A unit filled to the door. With no aisle you cannot reach the back and end up unloading everything.
- Shelving screwed to the wall. The terms do not allow it; use a free-standing rack.
- An unmeasured door. A wardrobe that only goes in dismantled costs you an hour exactly when the van is hired by the hour.
When you do not need the height
- You are storing boxes and seasonal things only. Then a small box is enough and the monthly sum decides, not the volume.
- You bring things yourself, a carload at a time. A ground-floor unit you can drive up to will do more for you than half a metre of extra height.
- You need a steady temperature. For electronics, books and clothes take an indoor unit rather than a container; a container is neither heated nor air-conditioned.
- You visit during the day, once a month. 24/7 access is included anyway, and every one of our sites has it, so it is not a reason to pick one unit over another.
How to go about it
- Measure the tallest and the longest item that is going into storage.
- Estimate the volume: how many boxes, how much furniture, what goes on top of what.
- On the location page compare volume, height and door size, not only the floor area.
- If things have to stick out above the wall, take an indoor unit at Holíčska or Tomášikova.
- Choose the term: 1, 3, 6, 9 or 12 months, or exactly to a date.
- Fill in your details and pay by card, bank transfer or QR payment. The contract starts with the first payment, you get your access details at once and the whole order takes about 10 minutes.
- Add the numbers of whoever will come with you in your account, and bring a rack and a sack truck.

How high are TOP SKLAD units?
A container is 2.60 m inside and that is a hard ceiling. An indoor unit also says 2.60 m on its page, but that is the partition wall: the hall at Holíčska and Tomášikova is over three metres high and the unit has no roof of its own. The smallest boxes at Holíčska are 1.00 to 1.20 m.
May things stick out above the wall of an indoor unit?
Yes. Indoor units have no roof of their own, so a tall wardrobe or a ladder may stand above the wall line and you may stack there too. In a container you cannot: the ceiling is solid at 2.60 m.
What does a cubic metre of storage cost?
As of 20 September 2026, on a 12-month term, a cubic metre costs 23.53€ a month in the smallest 0.99 m² box, 5.13€ in a 3.60 m² container and 3.61€ in a 14.40 m² one. The bigger the unit, the cheaper the volume.
