Small Storage Unit in Bratislava: from 0.99 m² and 29 € | TOP SKLAD

Your Bratislava flat came without a cellar, and by the second winter the hallway holds a set of tyres, a suitcase you open twice a year and four boxes untouched since you moved here. Nobody rents a bigger flat over four boxes, so you start looking for a small storage unit, from about one square metre.

Below: what fits into one cubic metre, what it costs on 4 September 2026, how to measure before you book, and when a small unit is money wasted.

The smallest unit we rent: 0.99 m² and one cubic metre

Indoor units, kobky in Slovak, are lockable rooms inside a building at a comfortable temperature all year. We have them at two addresses: indoor storage lockers at Holíčska 7 in Petržalka and Tomášikova 50D. The smallest free today is H50B: 0.93 × 1.06 m inside, 1.01 m high, exactly 1 m³, door 0.80 × 1.00 m.

One cubic metre takes more than most people picture: four tyres and two boxes, or a pram and a few bags, or clothes and papers stacked to the ceiling. Every size is listed under storage unit types and sizes.

What does not fit is anything long. The longest wall is 1.06 m, so skis, a snowboard or a bicycle will not stand up, and a fridge does not pass a 0.80 × 1.00 m door.

One size up: the 2.56 m² locker at Tomášikova

The other common small size is T14 at Tomášikova 50D in Nové Mesto: 1.55 × 1.65 m, 2.60 m high, 6.66 m³, door 0.80 × 1.95 m. Six times the volume of H50B and a different shape: you walk in, stack upwards, and skis or a bike stand up inside.

Both sit in the site's "up to 3 m²" bracket: seasonal things off a balcony or a hallway. For furniture or a washing machine, a small locker is the wrong product.

What a small storage unit costs on 4 September 2026

The price follows location, unit type, floor, size, current occupancy and rental length, and it moves daily. You see the exact sum before confirming the order.

  • H50B, 0.99 m², Holíčska: 38 € for one month, 36 € on a 3-month term, 34 € on 6, 31 € on 9, 29 € a month on 12.
  • T14, 2.56 m², Tomášikova: 100 € for a month, 78 € a month on a 12-month term.
  • Container D53, 3.6 m², Polianky 15 in Dúbravka: 76 € for a month, 49 € a month for a year.

Now the unflattering part. Per square metre the smallest locker is the priciest space we rent: 19 to 21 € per m² on a yearly term, against 9 to 12 € for large containers. It simply carries the lowest monthly sum, 29 € today.

The price list starts at 25 € a month. Of 527 units, 64 are free today, 0.99 to 14.4 m², 38 to 173 € at the one-month rate.

The first payment also carries a deposit, kaucia in Slovak, of one month's rent: on H50B for a month, 38 € rent plus 38 € deposit. Paid once per rental, never on renewal, it returns to the same card within 5 working days of a proper handover, up to 10 depending on your bank. Insurance up to 2 000 € is included, and cover up to 10 000 € costs 4.50 € to 12 € a month.

How to measure your things before you book

  • The longest item decides everything. Over 1.06 m and H50B is out: you want T14 with its 2.60 m ceiling, or a container.
  • The door is narrower than the unit, 0.80 × 1.00 m at H50B. A washing machine or an assembled wardrobe passes through neither.
  • Count boxes in stacks, not on the floor: several go into 1 m³ at the full 1.01 m of height.
  • Leave room for one more thing. Book exactly what you measured and you move up two months later, paying a second deposit.

Not sure one cubic metre is enough?

Every unit page shows the dimensions, the door size and the price for each rental term.

Common mistakes

  1. Choosing on square metres and ignoring the door. An opening of 0.80 × 1.00 m decides what gets inside at all.
  2. Forgetting the deposit in the first payment. On the smallest locker for a month that is not 38 € but 76 €.
  3. Taking one month for things that leave for a season or longer. On H50B the difference is 9 € a month.
  4. Taking a year to bridge a gap between two flats. Contracts run for a fixed term: end early and we recalculate at the tariff actually used, minus the last 14 days.
  5. A phone number without the country code. The gate opens on a call from your registered number in +421 format, and the Holíčska door on a code from your account.

When you do not need a small unit

Straight talk, because a customer who regrets it in month two is worse for us than no customer.

  • You have a dry cellar or a garage and the things are not delicate. Tyres and garden tools survive a cellar.
  • You need the things weekly. Crossing Bratislava for one box costs more than that box costs you at home; storage is for what you touch once a season.
  • The things are worth less than the rent: if you would not buy them again for 29 € a month, they belong in a classifieds listing.
  • You are storing furniture or appliances. One cubic metre will not take it, so look at storage container rental in Bratislava from 3.5 m² with drive-up access.
  • You need space for three days. The shortest term is one month plus the deposit; asking a neighbour works out cheaper.

How to rent one, step by step

  1. Measure your longest item, count your boxes, set the size filter to "up to 3 m²".
  2. Pick the site: Holíčska 7 or Tomášikova 50D for indoor lockers.
  3. Open the unit page: length, width, height, volume, door size and the price for 1, 3, 6, 9 and 12 months, or exactly to a date.
  4. Fill in the form in English. Name, address, e-mail and a phone number in +421 format are required; we do not rent anonymously. Companies are found in the business register.
  5. Pay online: card including Apple Pay and Google Pay, bank transfer or QR payment through the Tatra banka gateway. No cash.
  6. The contract is concluded by that first payment; documents and access data land in your account at once. About 10 minutes, nobody to meet.
  7. Come whenever you like, 24/7. You lock the unit with your own padlock, sealed and free with a new rental; only you hold the key.
  8. Before the paid period ends, renew in your account, or by 17:00 on the last paid day empty the unit, take the padlock off, upload three photos (two inside, one outside) and send the handover form.
