Short-Term Storage Rental in Bratislava: One Month | TOP SKLAD

Your lease ends on the 31st and the new flat in Petržalka is free only from the 20th. Or you fly home for six weeks, or your shipment lands before the flat does. That is when people look for short-term storage rental in Bratislava: a locked space for a month or two, without a year-long contract.

Here is what "short term" means here, what a month costs against a year, how the deposit comes back, and when it is the wrong call.

Need storage for one month only?

Pick a location and see which units are free today and what one month costs.

The shortest rental is one month, even if you need ten days

We rent from one month, nothing shorter. On the unit page you pick 1, 3, 6, 9 or 12 months, or "exactly to a date" if you know the handover day.

The contract is fixed-term and ends by itself: no notice, nothing to sign again. You either extend it in your client account or empty the unit by the last paid day. It all runs in English: the order form, the contract, the invoices, support. Details: answers about the deposit and ending a rental.

What one month costs against a year

Price follows location, unit type, floor, size, occupancy and term. Rates move daily; the figures below are from 4 September 2026, and the exact sum appears before you confirm.

  • H50B, indoor 0.99 m², Holíčska 7 in Petržalka: 38 € for one month, 29 € for twelve.
  • D53, container 3.6 m², Polianky 15 in Dúbravka: 76 € for one month, 49 € for twelve.
  • T14, indoor 2.56 m², Tomášikova 50D in Nové Mesto: 100 € for one month, 78 € for twelve.

Plainly: the short rate is the highest we have, about a third above the yearly rate indoors and more than half above it on a container. Over one or two months that is small money; over six it is not. The list starts at 25 €; the arithmetic is in how much a storage unit costs in Bratislava.

The deposit: your first payment covers two months

The first payment also carries a deposit, kaucia in Slovak, of one month's rent: for H50B that is 76 € off your card, 38 € rent and 38 € deposit. It is charged once per rental, never on renewal, and returns to the same card within 5 working days of a proper handover, up to 10 by bank.

Insurance up to 2 000 € is included: theft, robbery, fire, natural disaster, vandalism. More cover costs 4.50 € a month up to 5 000 €, 7.50 € up to 7 000 €, 12 € up to 10 000 €.

When one or two months genuinely fits

  • The gap between two flats: a container from 3.5 m², up to 3 m high inside, takes a dismantled bedroom, a washing machine and a fridge.
  • A renovation: furniture and appliances away from dust and painters. Sizes are in where to store furniture during a renovation; drain and dry the washing machine first, or a closed container smells of mould, as in how to store household appliances safely.
  • A month or two abroad: clothes, books and a dozen boxes fit an indoor unit under 3 m², comfortable in July and in January.
  • A trade fair, seasonal stock, a one-off contract: a stand or a few pallets parked for one to three months, invoiced with the company IČO.

Need a unit by tomorrow?

The order takes about 10 minutes online and the access details are yours right after payment.

How to hand the unit back and keep the deposit

The last paid day is the handover day: by 17:00 the unit empty, padlock off, three photos in the account (two inside, one outside) and the return form sent.

Skip that and we clear the unit within 3 days. No penalty, but the deposit is gone: not showing up costs a second month of rent.

What leaving a longer contract early costs

The opposite case: six months booked, builders done in three and a half. Outside the statutory 14-day withdrawal consumers have, the time used is recalculated at the tariff of the term actually used, minus the last 14 days.

Our own FAQ example: six months booked, 3.5 used, recalculated at the 3-month tariff. On D53 that tariff is 70 € against 65 € for six months, so the recalculation is dearer per month than what you signed. With an unknown end date, start with one month.

Mistakes we see most often

  1. Missing the 17:00 deadline: the unit can be empty and the deposit still gone, because the photos and the form never arrived.
  2. Booking twelve months because the rate looks better, when two would do: 12 × 29 € is far more than 2 × 38 €. Compare totals, not rates.
  3. Booking one month when the works clearly run into spring: on D53 that is 76 € instead of 65 €, every month.
  4. Saving the phone number without the +421 prefix: the gate opens on a call from your registered number. Movers or family belong in the account in advance, up to nine extra numbers per site.

When you do not need it

  • Three days of storage: you still pay a full month plus the deposit. A friend's garage or cellar is cheaper.
  • You already know it is six months or more: H50B costs 34 € on six months or 29 € on twelve, against 38 €.
  • The things are worth less than the rent: a tired sofa goes to a classifieds site or the waste yard faster than it earns 76 € a month.
  • You need somebody on site: no office, no staff, nobody signs for a delivery. Vehicles, food and anything flammable are not accepted.

How to go about it

  1. Pick a site and a unit: each page shows dimensions, volume, door size and the price per term.
  2. Choose the term: one month, or "exactly to a date" if the handover day is fixed.
  3. Fill in the contract details: real name, address, email, phone in international format. No anonymous rentals; a company is found by name in the business register.
  4. Pay online: card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, transfer or QR through the Tatra banka gateway, no cash. The contract starts with that payment, and documents and access details are in the account at once, about 10 minutes with no office visit.
  5. Come any time, 24/7: the gate opens on a call from your number and the unit closes with your own padlock; at Holíčska a code from the account opens the building door.
  6. Before the end, decide: extend in the account, or empty by 17:00, photograph and send the return form.

Frequently asked questions

How much does storage cost for one month in Bratislava?

On 4 September 2026 the free units ran from 38 € (indoor, 0.99 m²) to 173 €, on the one-month rate; a 3.6 m² container in Dúbravka is 76 €. Plus the one-month deposit, once.

Can I rent a storage unit for just one week?

No, one month is the minimum and a week is billed as a month: 38 € for the smallest indoor unit. If you need it until one particular day, pick "exactly to a date".

When do I get my deposit back?

Within 5 working days of the handover: unit empty by 17:00 of the last paid day, padlock off, three photos and the return form in the account. It returns to the card you paid from; some banks take 10 working days.

Can I extend if I need two more weeks?

Yes, in the account: pick a new period and it starts the day after the last paid day, with no second deposit. The price is shown before payment and can differ from the first month.

Do I need to speak Slovak to rent a unit?

No. The order, the contract, the documents and support are in English, and there is nobody to speak to on site anyway: the gate answers a call from your number. Three Slovak words help: kaucia is the deposit, kobka an indoor unit, areál the site.

Want today's price for one month?

Rates follow occupancy, and the unit page shows the sum for 1 month and for 12.
